Ward Watson Clark

Deceased January 24, 1969 in Juarez, Mexico while on vacation. He was an attorney in Canistota, South Dakota and retired in 1962 to Austin, Texas. From 1952 to 1956 he served as state chairman of the South Dakota Democratic Party, and helped launch the political career of (former US Presidential candidate) George S. McGovern by recruiting him to be executive secretary of the organization circa 1953.

Ward Watson Clark was the son of Mabel Edna Hill (born October 1883) and Ward Clark (Born 1886). The senior Ward Clark was the son of Sidney Clark and owned a veterinary hospital.

The younger Ward Clark was also married to a Mabel -- Mabel Murphy Clark-- who was born September 7, 1910 in South Dakota and deceased June 7, 2007 in Austin, Texas. She was the daughter of Stephen W. Murphy and Eunice Needham Murphy.
