Margaret Hill Walker
Margaret Jane Hill was born on January 5, 1871, in Montfort, Wisconsin, the first of eleven children born to John and Mary Ann Hill. She married Ulysses (Les) Wilcox Walker in nearby Fennimore on March 18, 1896, and the couple had five children. Les Walker died on August 23, 1934, in Platteville, Wisconsin, and Margaret died in Platteville on November 20, 1946.

Margaret "Mag" Hill was 25 years old when she married Ulysses "Les" Walker. The above photo was taken on their wedding day in Fennimore, Wisconsin. Ulysses' parents were Tom and Mary Ann Walker. His father came from England and his mother was born in Wales. Tom Walker fought in the Civil War after coming to America.

Five children were born to Margaret and Ulysses Walker between the years 1897-1914. Their oldest son Harley served in World War I, while their youngest son Dale was born during the first year of the war. They would eventually have 13 grandchildren.
